Things to do in Minneapolis

We’re so excited you’re traveling to Minneapolis to celebrate with us! Whether you’re making a weekend of it or just have a few extra hours to explore, the city has plenty to offer—from beautiful parks and lakes to great food, art, and shopping. Here are a few of our favorite ways to enjoy the area while you're in town.


Explore Downtown Minneapolis

If you're staying near our venue, you're already in the heart of the city. Take a walk along the Mississippi River, check out the historic Stone Arch Bridge, or explore the nearby North Loop neighborhood, known for its restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques.


Visit the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden & Walker Art Center

One of the city's most iconic spots, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is home to the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture and sits next to the Walker Art Center, one of the most well-known contemporary art museums in the country. It’s a great place to spend an afternoon exploring art and enjoying the outdoors.


Explore the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA)

The Minneapolis Institute of Art is one of the largest art museums in the Midwest and features an incredible collection spanning thousands of years and cultures. Admission is free, making it an easy and worthwhile stop if you enjoy art or museums.


See Minnehaha Falls

Just a short drive from downtown, Minnehaha Falls is a beautiful 53-foot waterfall located in Minnehaha Regional Park. It’s a perfect spot for a quick nature break, a scenic walk, or a picnic.


Shop at Mall of America

If you’re looking for shopping, dining, or family-friendly fun, Mall of America is about 20 minutes away and is one of the largest shopping malls in the United States.


Walk Around the Lakes

Minneapolis is known as the “City of Lakes.” If you have time, visit Lake Bde Maka Ska or Lake Harriet for scenic walking paths, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing by the water.


Things to Do Within Walking Distance of The Depot

If you’re staying near our venue, there are several great spots you can easily walk to while exploring downtown Minneapolis.


Stone Arch Bridge – One of Minneapolis’ most iconic landmarks, this historic pedestrian bridge offers beautiful views of the Mississippi River and the downtown skyline.


St. Anthony Main & Riverfront Area – A charming historic district across the river with restaurants, patios, and scenic riverfront walking paths.


Mill City Museum & Mill Ruins Park – Built inside the ruins of a historic flour mill, this museum tells the story of Minneapolis’ milling history and has great views of the river.


Gold Medal Park – A peaceful park near the river with walking paths and a grassy hill that offers great views of the city.


The North Loop – One of Minneapolis’ most popular neighborhoods for restaurants, breweries, and shopping. It’s a great area to explore in the evening.


Target Field – Home of the Minnesota Twins and just a short walk from The Depot. Even when there isn’t a game, the surrounding area has great restaurants and bars.

Bar La Grassa – A Minneapolis staple known for incredible handmade pastas and a fun atmosphere.


Spoon and Stable – A nationally recognized restaurant serving seasonal Midwestern cuisine in a beautifully restored horse stable.


The Monte Carlo - Established in 1906, the Monte Carlo is one of Minneapolis's landmark establishments offering a great place for a weekday lunch, evening meal or a Sunday brunch. The Monte Carlo features dishes from steaks and chops to seafood and our famous chicken wings in a relaxed surrounding. The copper-topped bar, intimate booths in the main dining room, an expansive patio and private dining rooms, provide diners a memorable experience.


Red Cow (North Loop) – A great casual option for burgers, craft beer, and cocktails.


Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza – Delicious coal-fired pizzas and a great happy hour.


The Freehouse – A North Loop brewpub serving house-made beers, great brunch, and American comfort food.


Public Domain – A cozy craft cocktail bar known for its creative drinks and relaxed atmosphere.


Parlour Bar – Known for craft cocktails and one of the best burgers in the city.


Marvel Bar – A stylish basement cocktail bar famous for inventive drinks and a speakeasy atmosphere.


Maison Margaux – An elegant cocktail bar and lounge in the North Loop with a chic atmosphere and beautifully crafted drinks.


The Berlin – A sophisticated jazz club and cocktail bar in the North Loop featuring live music and a stylish lounge vibe.


Hewing Hotel Rooftop Bar – A great place for cocktails with rooftop views of downtown Minneapolis.
